Gabriel A Peak Hospitalized after Island Park Car Accident on Highway 20

Island Park, Idaho (April 11, 2020) – A man was hospitalized Saturday morning following a head-on collision in Island Park, according to a report by the Idaho State Police.

The accident, involving a pickup and a semi-truck, happened at about 8:18 a.m. Saturday, April 4, on Highway 20.

According to the ISP report, Gabriel A. Peak, 25, of Phoenix, was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram eastbound on Highway 20 when, for unknown reasons, he drifted across the center median and collided with a 2018 Peterbuilt semi-truck towing a trailer, operated by Bryan L. Winmill, of Blackfoot.

Peak sustained a cut on his leg and a broken toe and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. It remains unclear whether Peak’s juvenile passenger was injured.

Authorities said all occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. The Dodge was totaled after the crash.

Both lanes of Highway 20 were shut down for approximately one hour following the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
