Dustin Wiseman, Chad Johnson among 3 Seriously Injured in Groton Truck Accident near 140th Street and 408th Avenue
Groton, South Dakota (April 7, 2020) – Dustin Wiseman, 35, and Chad Johnson, 47, both of Groton, were among three people seriously injured last week Monday in a traffic accident in Groton, according to authorities.
At about 7:35 p.m. Monday, March 30, officers received a report of a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of 140th Street and 408th Avenue.
Authorities said a 2009 Dodge pickup was parked perpendicularly on a gravel road when, for unknown reasons, a 2014 GMC pickup slammed into it. The Dodge’s body was across part of 140th Street at the time of the accident.
The force of the impact caused the GMC to rotate counterclockwise and struck a 15-year-old boy who was standing outside the Dodge near the front passenger door.
Both drivers, Wiseman and Johnson, sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. The teen was also transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
No further details about the crash were immediately given.
The accident remains under investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
