Toya Martin and Tonia Cranford ID’d as 2 Killed in Clayton Truck Accident at Hoke Road and Salem Avenue

Clayton, Ohio (April 8, 2020) – Authorities have identified the two people who were killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in Clayton as Toya Martin, 51, and Tonia Cranford, 51, both of Dayton.

At about 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, officers received a report of the accident at the intersection of Hoke Road and Salem Avenue.

Police said a Cadillac sedan was traveling northbound on Hoke Road when it collided with a pickup truck that was traveling westbound on Salem Avenue.

Martin, who was riding as a passenger in the Cadillac, died at the scene. The driver of the Cadillac, identified as Cranford, was transported to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

A child in the backseat of the Cadillac was transported to Dayton Children’s Hospital with unknown injuries.

Jeffery Cox, 63, of Dayton, the driver of the pickup truck, was taken to Grandview Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
